REVIEW FOR WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE. This was a Fantstic movie that I could not but fall in love with. This movie is well worth the anticipation, it hits every button that your looking for when you think about how the movie would look and feel.
A few things that i didnt kno behind this movie were:
. Tom Hanks produced it
. Maurice Sendak (the author of the book) was very hands on with this project.
. Forest Whitaker is the voice of IRA
. Lauren Ambrose (google her, i didnt know who she was til i saw her face) is the voice of KW
. James Gandolfini (The Sopranos) vocied CAROL
. Spike Jonze's (not lee) girlfriend is the lead singer for the group Yeah Yeah Yeahs and she created the soundtrack for the movie.
Max Records is the young actor who played MAX in the movie, I think he did a great job playing this role. He had the look, feel, and sound that I thought MAX would have if he ever was a real boy. The music for the movie also played a huge part in how well the movie came off. The visuals were fantastic, the creatures had a Jim Henson feel with cg adaptation to there faces which looked and felt like home. The director of photography did a wonderful jobs w/ the colors and lighting , also angles when shooting this film. It has a original yet close to home feel. Overall the movie recieves an A+ from me. Spike Jonze took a 10 sentence childrens book and turned it into a 111 page screenplay that felt xactly the same. Funny and touching movie, I think I may go see it again. There was not one dislike in this film for me, which is RARE. I'd recommened everyone go see the movie if they can, and its a rainy weekend so it would be PERFECT.
